In Vogelvrij, filmmaker Monique Pool explores the fragile relationship between humans and nature through the animals that call Suriname home. The film shows how the protection of biodiversity is inextricably linked to the country’s future. 

In Ontwikkeling, alles op zijn tijd, filmmaker Thanya Fonkel is followed as she returns to her Maroon roots. Drawing on her work and personal background, she explores how development can contribute to the future of the interior, without losing sight of her community’s values and traditions.
